etip (Electronic Tipping Integrated Platform) is a cashless tipping app designed for the hotel industry.
The idea came to me after leaving a hotel in Boston without cash to tip the bellman. I shared my frustration with friends and thought, Wouldn’t it be great to tip digitally? They loved it, and together we created etip.
As students at The Ohio State University, we entered the Best of Student Start-ups (BOSS) competition. Through entrepreneurship classes, research, and design, my team developed wireframes and a pitch deck. We placed third and won the People’s Choice Award.
After the competition, I built a website and app prototype. Though the company didn’t launch due to busy schedules, the experience strengthened my skills in research, teamwork, and UX design—my favorite part of the process.
